About the Author:  Alec Iorio

Alec Iorio's GISTnet contributions include developing and updating training courses and assessments, and assisting customers with custom course development. Alec also continually monitors student "Instafeedback" messages, either responding directly or referring questions outside his subject matter expertise to other GISTnet authors for reply.

Alec has extensive experience in U.S. ocean forwarding and NVOCC operations. He began his forwarding career in 1979, and has worked in various capacities for Enterprise Shipping and then Janel International, mostly managing ocean export departments.

In 1991 he became a full-time faculty member at El Camino Community College in Torrance, California. Alec joind GISTnet in 2002 after retiring from teaching.

Alec has a Master of Arts degree in Theater from the University of Denver.
