About GISTnet^® Country Guides

GISTnet Country Guides provide the practical, detailed, country-by-country information needed by exporters and freight forwarders to meet customs documentation, packaging, marking and other import requirements in destination countries.

Our guide is written by and for shipping professionals. In addition to what is required, we provide a variety of how-to information on the preparation of shipping documents, plus a variety of contacts where additional shipment-specific information and assistance can be obtained. As an on-line service, there are several further advantages to the GISTnet Country Guides over traditional paper-based or CD-ROM publications:

• Continuous Updating—Our country pages are immediately revised as changes occur or we become aware of additional useful information about a country.
• Convenience—Our users never have to spend time inserting revision pages into traditional books or sharing physical books or CD-ROMs. All staff who have need for destination country export information have it continuously available via their Internet browser.
• Interactivity—Every page in our Export Guide has an email link to the GISTnet person responsible for maintaining the particular page. We also provide help-desk phone number for immediate assistance. We will promptly respond to your questions or concerns, and will aggressively investigate new issues which arise. Subscriber interaction is one way in which we keep our information current in-between scheduled review intervals.

• Global Trade Scope (Coming Soon)—Since a given county's import and/or export documentation and other requirements may vary based on the country with which they are trading (e.g., due to preferential trade relationships, restrictions and/or embargoes), the GISTnet Country Guides will begin reporting such additional information for each country listing by showing variances in otherwise applicable information for countries with which the listed country has special trade provisions.
