cargo insurance

A general term meaning the same as shipping insurance. When referring to "marine insurance," the term "cargo" is used to distinguish a cargo policy from a hull policy. See marine cargo insurance policy (which also may be used to insure international airfreight) and inland marine cargo insurance policy (which is used to insure domestic shipments).
