(U.S.) This is a list of five-digit codes uniquely identifying all significant commercial ports outside the United States. It is used by MARAD to collect statistics on U.S. waterborne commerce, and by the U.S. Bureau of the Census and publish such statistics. Schedule K is captioned "Classification of Foreign Ports by Geographic Trade Area and Country, and per MARAD, "This schedule lists the major ports of the world directly handling waterborne shipments in the foreign trade of the United States and the numeric codes identifying these ports." The ISA Implementation Guide also adopts the Schedule K to identify ports outside the U.S. Schedule K is included as part of the U.S. Schedule B publication.
