IAC Air Cargo Security Training

GISTnet has been providing on-line training in a variety of career development and regulatory compliance training in cargo transportation, international trade and logistics since 1994, and IACSSP security training to U.S. air forwarders since 2000. See below for IAC security training, and the GISTnet main course catalog for all other training.

Important: These courses are available for use by Indirect Air Carrier (air forwarder) direct employees, agents and sub-contractors ("authorized representatives") in the U.S. for which we have IACSSP confirmation. Course syllabi are available only to IAC representatives, and available from iacstaff@gistnet.com or 310-376-3888.

Our courses include everything addressed in the TSA's PowerPoint training presentations and assessments, plus additional graphics and expansion of important topics to make the training more operationally oriented and responsive to real world issues, and thereby more valuable to employers. We have also added practical exercises and questions to emphasize key points and provide practice assessments with instructive feedback to help users prepare to pass their assessment for record. Training is updated as needed to reflect changes in TSA requirements.

GISTnet offers multiple IAC air cargo training courses to provide a means of limiting training to subject matter areas that correspond to assigned job responsibilities as provided for in 49 CFR 1548.11(b)(4) and the IACSSP.

Training and assessment are completed entirely on-line using a web browser. Some courses require an Adobe Flash Player (a free browser plug-in), and include audio narration which can be used by learners who prefer listening to reading. Spanish versions of this training are under development with expected availability during the first half of 2008.

GISTnet on-line training is convenient (available anytime/anywhere), low cost, and typically results in more learning and greater retention in less time than classroom instruction because learners must pay closer attention and frequently respond to questions and exercises. Employees proceed at their own pace as needed to master the material. With prior understanding of requied secrity procedures, as is the case with refresher training, an employee will typically complete the training in about half the time needed when seeing the material for the first time.

As an employer, our hosted training management platform, GISTware, provides you with company-wide visibility of training status, detailed training and assessment records including special reports for TSA station audit, paper training completion certificates, and exceptionally easy administration of annual refresher training. You can also use this system to centrally manage all types of training regardless of delivery method or provider.

Our training courses are subject to significant volume purchase discounts. Annual refresher trainng is automatically discounted at 50% for people who have completed a previous equivalent GISTnet course.

Training for IAC Direct Employees

  Course fee $30 ($20 subscriber). Estimated completion time, including self-directed study of specified off-system materials: 4+ hours initial training, 2+ hours refresher use. Important: This training requires personal access to IACSSP and IACMS.
   
• IAC Security Training for Customer Service, Documentation and Supervisory Staff (traditional multi-lesson course structure—convenient for employees with at-work PCs)
  Course fee $30 ($20 subscriber). Estimated completion time: 3+ hours for employees without any prior knowledge of IAC security procedures, 2 hours for refresher use.

  Course fee $30 ($20 subscriber). Estimated completion time: 3+ hours for employees without any prior knowledge of IAC security procedures, 2 hours for refresher use.
   
• IAC Security Training for Warehouse and Others with Unescorted Access to Cargo (single-session Flash version with audio narration)
  Course fee $25 ($18 subscriber); Estimated completion time: 2-3 hours for employees without any prior knowledge of IAC security procedures, 1-2 hours for refresher use.
