Non-subscriber price: $58.00, Subscriber price: $45.00
Estimated total study time: 3 hours 7 minutes

---Note: Course temporarily suspended pending revision based on new FTR. Should be again available for assignment late July, 2008 ---

This course addresses specific operational requirements when preparing and filing AES Records (electronic Shipper's Export Declarations) on behalf of an exporter (USPPI or FPPI). It includes recommendations for use in a freight forwarder environment where AES records are being prepared on behalf of many different exporters.
Important: This course assumes you already have received training, or are otherwise knowledgeable, in the following subjects:

  1. Correct preparation of paper SEDs (i.e., information requirements for each form field, and how/where to obtain needed information);
  2. Schedule B classification;
  3. acceptable forms of authorization a forwarder must have from the USPPI or FPPI in order to prepare and file an SED as agent;
  4. responsibility of the exporter (USPPI, and/or FPPI) for determining export requirements and providing necessary SED information to the forwarder;
  5. general awareness of U.S. export controls and other export compliance requirements; and,
  6. how to recognize suspicious shipments, and what to do (your company policy).
If you are not knowledgeable in any the above topics, we strongly recommend training as needed before assuming transaction responsibility as an AES filing agent.
